Skyline Firearms Distribution was founded in July 2019 by USMC Veteran Max Schlosser.
Max has always had a deep-seated passion for all things firearms related. As a young boy, his grandfather would take him on the back porch and shoot targets on the farm in North Dakota. This led into hunting by his grandfather’s side, mainly whitetail deer in the areas surrounding Linton, ND. Throughout his childhood, Max always had a pull to do something bigger. He always idolized the men he saw on the silver screen in films such as Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, and We Were Soldiers, and after graduating high school, he decided to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.
Max’s life after high school has been intertwined with significant dates in United States history, and this strengthened his love for country and dedication to duty.
September 10th, 2007, just one day before the anniversary of 9/11. Max stepped off the bus and onto the Yellow Footprints at MCRD San Diego.
December 7th, 2007, the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Max graduated Recruit Training.
He originally enlisted to drive trucks, but his suspended civilian license led him to be re-classed as a Combat Engineer. After completing his training, he went to his first unit. He met with the CO and was given an option: fast track his integration with the unit to deploy to Iraq, or sit the deployment out. He chose to deploy.
Fast forward the next three years, and Max had served as a United States Marine for four years, serving in a combat tour in Iraq from 2008-2009, and again in Afghanistan from 2010-2011. Shortly after getting back from Afghanistan, he was fast-tracked back into civilian life.
When his active service ended in 2011, he found what he thought was a career in the tire industry, of all things. He met his (now) wife and step-daughter in 2012, and his youngest daughter was born in 2014. He married the love of his life in November 2014, and they supported each other through the roller coaster that is their life, always standing by each other’s side. In 2019 he left the tire industry, and he started a new career in the security industry. When he made the transition to the security industry, he almost simultaneously started Skyline Firearms Distribution.
Initially, Skyline Firearms Distribution was meant to be a supplement to his new career. However, it quickly became more than that. Skyline Firearms Distribution helped Max to refocus his passions in firearms, shooting, and safety training. During the start of the COVID lockdowns in March of 2020, Max was able to make the switch to operating Skyline Firearms Distribution full time. Up until this point, Max’s wife, Kimberly, had been handling the Social Media marketing for the business. With Max now running Skyline Firearms full-time, he was able to free up time for Kimberly, and she enrolled in a nursing program at Colorado Christian University in August 2020. She has focused heavily on her studies, while also working part-time and still making time to be the best mother, so Kim has had to step out of business operations, but her support still means the world to Max and Skyline Firearms in general!
